Chevelle es una banda de Alternative metal de Estados Unidos formada en 1995 en Chicago, Illinois. Originariamente la banda estaba formada por tres hermanos: Pete Loeffler (voz, guitarra), Sam Loeffler (batería) y Joe Loeffler (voz y bajo). En 2005 Joe abandonó el grupo y fue reemplazado por Dean Bernardini al poco tiempo. Chevelle han vendido más de dos millones de copias en estados unidos, siendo su mayor éxito hasta la fecha su segundo álbum Wonder What's Next, con el que consiguieron un álbum de platino en los Estados Unidos.
Historia
Inspirada por los riffs tambaleantes de Helmet y la voz suave-fuerte de Tool, la música del trío de Chicago, Chevelle, acumula tensión con un sonido agresivo y pesado hasta explotar en ráfagas de guitarra. Su cantante y guitarrista Pete Loeffler se inspira en temas abstractos y a veces en ideas humorísticas.
Empezaron tocando en fiestas y eventos al aire libre, que rápidamente se convirtieron en presentaciones en clubes de Chicago cuando el menor de los hermanos, Joe, tenía sólo 14 años.
En 1999 la banda lanzó su álbum debut, "Point #1", que fue producido por Steve Albini, bajo el sello Squint Entertainment. Tres años después firmaron con Epic y sacaron Wonder What´s Next con el single "The Red" que es uno de sus mayores éxitos hasta ahora de la banda. En julio el álbum consiguió el disco platino y el segundo sencillo "Send The Pain Below" alcanzó el número 1 en las listas de rock estadounidenses. El último single del disco fue "Closure", que tiene un video inspirado en su DVD "Live From The Norva". Luego, siguieron presentaciones en el Ozzfest ese verano.
Su tercer disco fue titulado "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)". Su primer single fue "Vitamir R", al que le siguieron "The Clincher" y "Panic Prone".
Su cuarto disco Vena Sera fue lanzado el 3 de abril del 2007, su primer single fue "Well Enough Alone". Este álbum vendió 62,000 copias en la primera semana de estar a la venta debutando en el 12 del Billboard. El segundo single del álbum fue "I Get It" que se lanzó el 12 de Junio.
Su último tour empezó en julio de 2007, teniendo como teloneros a la banda The Butterfly Effect en su tour australiano.
